(currently listening to Jesca Hoop)
So this past month has been pretty crazy busy with juggling the promotion of my newly released EP, while craving the itch to simply rehearse and write music. It's been super fun meeting all sorts of new people while playing mini solo shows all over, like Anaheim, San Diego, Los Angeles... Currently planning a nation-wide tour, where I will visit the ears of North America: The west coast (San Francisco, Portland, Seattle), and the east coast (Boston, New York). I'll be off on my way beginning of October. :)
I've always lived like a nomad, out of a suitcase, but I have recently found the beauty in some sort of permanence: a lock out rehearsal room! I recently started renting out a rehearsal room with a bunch of other awesome folk... my new musical sanctuary is in Burbank called Nightingale Rehearsal Studios, and I'm super excited to have a spot I can go to any time to rehearse. How frikin magical.
Sad news: my Boss RC Loop pedal is broken. Anybody know where I can get this fixed in Los Angeles? I guess I could research, but currently researching to figure out how I can now use my Logic Pro to improve my live performance. Perhaps it's a sign that I should rely less on my loop pedal, and start nerding out on my Logic Pro Main Stage program. Debating if I should check out ableton... but i've already been composing on logic. I guess I'll check out both. ;)
I'm excited because I feel like I'm reaching a state of mind where I more healthily juggle all the things on my plate. I prefer mono-tasking, which doesn't seem the best fit for this crazy age of technology and multi-tasking. Oh but I am trying to adjust to the times, and I do this for the listeners, friends, and fans...
To be honest if I could have my way, I would hole up in a cabin and send my music to you all via horse and carriage. But alas, our lives are spotted with blogspots, published on facebook, etc etc. But I shall refrain from whining for the past. I always want to go back to the 60's, and that's just not a possibility... yet. ;) So for now, I shall relish in the amazing times we live in now!! 2010, babeeeee.
Btw, I'll be going to a Deepak Chopra conference next Tuesday.. called Evolutionary Leaders. I've been feeling hungry for more thought, more spirit, more love... more life. MORE!! As my sister says to me when she advises me about boyfriends, Demand More! Well, since living is my lover, I will demand more from that instead. ;)
Much Love. Hope my rambling ranting serves you some purpose. or entertainment.
Get that ish repaired at "Advanced Musical Electronics" in Midtown by Venice and the 10. www.advancedmusical.com They repair everybody's everything in L.A. BTW, your pedal might not be worth repairing. The labor is often too much :(
